oWe got in late because the hotel overbooked; my team members in from afar got a far nicer hotel (woo resorts) but it made things insane where trying to get the booth set up was concerned.  Good thing is that I’m now on a first-name basis with critical members of hotel staff. 

We had four workstations when we got to the booth.  Only one worked.  What the fuck.

I dropped a grand on a mid-level gaming laptop to serve as a workstation.  Staff brought their own machines.  We’re indies, I’m not made of money yet.  Did I mention my people are awesome?

Tons of people around.  Tons of people played our build!  Lots of positive impressions, lots of constructive notes.  Grumpy Witch is a pleaser so far, though, and that’s huge.

We did get one dude who was like a living Youtube comment, but otherwise things were decent.

Holy shit the vidya-strain Nazis were in full effect, though.  Guy cosplaying in straight-up Nazi regalia, etc.  Criminy.

We will be showing off Grumpy Witch there from Jan 3-6, in the Indie arcade.  Look for the enchanted forest (and likely purple tent!)  Come see how far we’ve come, talk to devs and artists, and perhaps even a wild ME.  WHO KNOWS.

I hate RENT. It’s awesome for what it did in terms of representation and what it tried to do, but it’s still about horrible people doing horrible shit and why it was ever popular I will never know.  The people it aimed to serve deserved SO much better.
